Introduction
The DJI OM 4 handheld gimbal is the most recent version. The price is a very reasonable PS139, and it comes with several accessories, including a mini grip tripod and two magnetic attachments.
This latest version features a new magnetic design. The OM 3 had a phone clamp attached to its arm. The OM 4 gimbal arms feature a strong magnet that binds securely to the Magnetic Phone Clamp and Magnetic Ring Holder attachments. This is a better design.
A new color is also available, a lighter grey than the OM3.
The OM 4’s most notable feature is undoubtedly its 3-axis gimbal. It can smoothen out even the roughest handheld video actions. There’s more.
The DJI Mimo app has a variety of shooting modes, including timelapse, hyper-lapse, and pano. An updated Active Tracking 3.0 should allow for better subject tracking.
The OM 4 is an excellent tool for expanding the capabilities of your smartphone’s camera and transforming video footage.
You can save a lot of video quality is a concern on your smartphone by pairing the OM 4 and a mid-range budget smartphone instead of spending a lot for a flagship model.
The DJI OM 4 is designed for people who want to enhance the video capabilities of their smartphone, particularly to create smooth handheld videos. It is well worth the money.
It’s easy to use
The magnetic design allows you to attach your smartphone to it. There are two options: either the Magnetic Ring Holder that can be attached to the back of your phone or the Magnetic Phone Clamp. Both are available.
The Magnetic Ring Holder has a clear guide to align it centrally on your phone’s rear for optimal performance.
We quickly chose the Magnetic Phone Clamp over the Ring Holder, as it felt more secure and didn’t leave any residue marks on our phone.
The DJI OM 3’s only design change is this new magnetic design. DJI has reduced the size of its gimbal arms by using this design.
We prefer the new magnetic design. It’s easier and faster. The magnet acts like glue. We gave it a test of weakness, but it held firm.
The magnetic attachment will align appropriately so you don’t need to do any counterbalancing. Snap in place and turn on. Simple. It’s simple and refreshingly easy, which adds to the enjoyment factor.
The design is very familiar. The gimbal is compact and lightweight, weighing in at less than 400g. It also has an arm that can be folded away when it’s not being used. Although it’s too large to fit into a trouser pocket or other pockets, the soft storage pouch included provides extra protection.
